STAR SPANGLED.

Put away your inhibitions, African print is a big deal!

I'm a person of color, I love color and will always be drawn to capturing street style that evinces my bias for color.

This visual delight is my point of view.

There's a widespread use of this fabric, as shown in my previous post HERE. Okay I'll just re-post the photo for your ease.
Because I'm at your street style service :)

Cheers.

THROWBACK THURSDAY.

"Throwback Thursday" or #TBT is one amongst the hordes of new lingo social media has introduced into everyday spoken and written English...

I was resistant at first.

I am after-all a Lawyer, we have to be seen to be noble and dignified in our speech. "Fit & Proper" was the terminology used ad nauseum in Law School.

But I find that I'm ever so slightly getting converted to this new-age-cyber-speak.

So here's a proper #throwback.

I took the photos of this beaut before this year's turn of Janus.

C'est unaffected elegance.

Cheers :)

NO RAIN, NO GAIN.

"Some people feel the rain, others just get wet."
 - Bob Marley

I'm supposed to be anti-rain.
I spent over a decade in a country that saw a little too much wet weather.
But to my pleasant surprise, the last weekend of almost constant rain in Lagos did not bother me none. I have a few theories.

Maybe because I'm no social butterfly and therefore don't have weekend commitments that mean I must be out and about while it pours.
Maybe because I have a roof over my head and it's only my roof that feels the weight of the heavy downpour.

Maybe I just find Lagos that bit cosier than when the sun shows us no mercy (which is often).

Anyway, in all my love for the rain, I think that a person who's brave enough to wear a brilliant white outfit in these conditions, deserves her personal rainbow.

Since I'm unable to give her that, I'll feature her on the blog instead.

Enjoy! :)

THE FOOD EDIT.

I appreciate that you come here to appreciate the way Lagosians appreciate the need to be stylish. On the streets.

Having said that, I also have to let you know I appreciate good eats.

I'm working my way up to being a #Whole30 or #FitFam or #TeamHealthyEating real life activist. In the meantime, I indulge in treats when out and about in my city.

Club sandwiches are my thing. They're available on a menu in pretty much every country I've been to (yes, all 9 of them....I'm also not yet a pro #TeamWanderlust...but again working my way up) and they're quick and they're divine.

Which brings me to the clubbie I had recently at THE LILY GATE HOTEL. Dear Lord!

DO UP AN UP-DO.

Nothing against long locks but you have to admit it's refreshing to see a woman with a short and fierce up-do, infused with playful femininity.

My muse today is a worthy beacon for the #TeamNatural debate.

Enjoy.

MATCH MAKING.

The strip lining.

The shoes.

Match making done right.

In crisp simplicity.

A GOOD DAY.

The weather is not as hot as it's typically been the last few weeks.

My good pal just returned from Paris and got me some fabulous Maxim's chocolates and a breezy white outfit.

Work achievements are at an all time high.

And I may have some exciting street style collaboration news soon.

It's a good day to have a good day.

Now back to the matter of beautiful Lagosians.

Cheers ma dears!

EARNEST.

Because these days, intense gazes from beautiful soul sisters are all the rage.

ON THE SUBJECT OF YELLOW.

Cute or CUTE?

YELLOW LAGOS.

Instagram is great for opening accounts that can be themed on anything. Literally ANY-THING. In my first foray into "the Gram", I genuinely wondered why people would open accounts strictly dedicated to say ... hibiscus flowers or to ... things made of wood.

CANDID GRAB.

Elegant.
