VLISCO ORIGINALITY... SINCE 1846

If you're African, living in Africa, odds are you may have worn a Vlisco piece or Vlisco inspired piece at least once in your life.

And if you haven't, here's what you're missing out on...

The Vlisco brand has been a big part of the African fashion heritage for over a century. There's a continuous creation, inspiration and connection with Africa's creative spirit and talent, built by a sustainable relationship with West and Central Africa.

You know those Woodin, Uniwax and GTP textile brands? They're part of the Vlisco Group. I only found out at the launch and I was suitably impressed.

With quality fabrics, promotion of African design and job creation (1,800 jobs in Africa alone), I'm perfectly okay to be associated with the Vlisco brand.

Wouldn't you be?

Titi, our lovely compere...draped in Vlisco. Of course :)

One of the gorgeous Vlisco models. The sass, the style, the attitude. Nothing out of place.

Guests were asked to write a style note, attach the note to a balloon, and let them out to the universe. I didn't get to write mine, the camera versus the pen...I chose the camera this time. But it was a very nice choice, and if I'd written something, it would have been along the lines of "Be a nice human, and be nice in style"... or such like.

Beauty. More Beauty. A lot of Beauty.

Our celebrities were there. Stephanie Linus and Sola Sobowale. And of course the Vlisco Ambassador 2015, Dotun Akande.

And then there was an in-store fashion show. Loved this ensemble. Print on print works.

Bright. Walk this way!

Detail.

Print loveliness everywhere.

Fiery Print.

And the Vlisco CEO, Hans Ouwendijk said "The store is now open. Let's shop!"

  2. This is lovely. Vlisco fabrics are everything! I wish they were more affordable but I try to save to buy a few. I see myself copying some styles here ready :)

  3. Totally digging these fabrics. All i need is a decent and inexpensive tailor on the mainland. Any suggestions?
