BLOOM.

Someone once told me to bloom even where I'm not planted.

Excellent advice.

And speaking of blooms and plants, her jacket is a Yes from me.

P.I.P.

What's not to love here?

Picture in Picture.

SPORTY CHIC.

As seen at last year's Lagos Fashion Week.

The reason escapes me as to why I have a ridiculous amount of unpublished photos.

EKI OGUNBOR.

She's currently the Editor of Bella Naija Style.

Befitting.

BECAUSE...

...there were men at Fashion Week too and there were stylish men.

STILL ON THE RECAP

...of last year's Lagos Fashion Week.

I present to you the chic approach to minding your business.

UPCOMING...LAGOS FASHION WEEK 2018!

It's been fashion season around the world, but we're here for the ONE that matters.

To us.

A recap of last year's style statements will be running on the blog daily for the next month.

Keep it locked.

Cheers.

MOBOLAJI DAWODU.

He's a fashion stylist and fashion director for GQ Style.

I photographed him earlier this year at Gidifest.

A few weeks ago, I bumped into his interview with Vogue; some of his assertions were arguably laced with what I might consider an attempt to establish Pan-African style independence, however they it can't be denied that his words remain simply truthful.

You can read the entire interview HERE or you can see below the excerpts of his words where I essentially found myself vigorously nodding while reading:

"...presentation of Africa is a very important thing."

"Money is not style." {cue the Hallelujah chorus.}

"Africa is a place of so many colors and so many beautiful textures..."

"...a closet...that's believable and authentic, you can't really go wrong."

"[Fela Kuti] is the most stylish dude because of what he stood for. Speaking up for the rights of the people...he was unafraid." {Perspective.}

"Africa is the future, and it has always been." {Amen!}

"I have a thing for yellow and orange."

Here's his photo which suggests he was not merely paying lip service to his statement on his color preferences.

Cheers.

My black sisters who recognize that we do not require jewels before we wear our crowns.

SEASONS & SAUCE.

I had a lovely foreigner send me a private Instagram message asking how come we are always dressed "for summer" in Lagos.

Hahaha!

What summer?

UNAFFECTED.

And by that, I mean stylish and unbothered.

As seen in Lagos.

PLASTIC FANTASTIC.

As seen in Eko.
